Mr. Lincoln

I've always loved this song. I am a pretty big "Bocephus" fan anyway, but this song speaks to the heart of the problems in our nation.

"Mr. Lincoln, I wish you were here. Things have changed a lot in 100 years. I don't think it's working out like you planned."

I FIRMLY believe Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and all of our forefathers and founding fathers of this nation would roll over in their graves if they knew what this country has become.

While this song does not specifically speak to the topic that I am blogging about today, it does speak to how things have gone so far away from the original intent of our forefathers for this nation.

"Well at least we're right, all we've gotta do is tell the truth. He said You're living in the past you romantic fool. You've got that right- I lean toward the older ways."

While Abraham Lincoln was not one of the signers of The Constitution, this is what I want to focus on in this blog.

To quote Wikipedia,

The United States Constitution is THE SUPREME LAW of this country. It is the foundation and source of the legal authority underlying the existence of the United States of America and the federal government of the United States. It provides the framework for the organization of the United States government and for the relationship of the federal government to the states, to citizens, and to all people within the United States.

The Constitution defines the three main branches of government: a legislature, the bicameral Congress; an executive branch led by the President; and a judicial branch headed by the Supreme Court. The Constitution specifies the powers and duties of each branch. The Constitution reserves all unenumerated powers for the respective states and the people, thereby establishing the federal system of government.

The United States Constitution was adopted on September 17, 1787, by the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and ratified by conventions in each U.S. state in the name of "The People". The Constitution has been amended twenty-seven times; the first ten amendments are known as the Bill of Rights.

The United States Constitution is the shortest and oldest written constitution still in use by any nation in the world today.

The Constitution has a central place in United States law and political culture. The handwritten original document penned by Jacob Shallus is on display at the National Archives and Records Administration in Washington, D.C.

As the Supreme Law of our Nation, The Constitution addresses a Census. While yes, the government can conduct a census every 10 years to get a HEADCOUNT, The Constitution DOES NOT allow them the right to know all of your personal information, such as how much you pay on your utilities, how much income you make and from what sources (this is what the IRS is for!)

If you are comfortable giving your personal information to strangers, then feel free! For me, I am going to show them a copy of The United States Constitution and ask the government official to show me where in The Constitution it says that they are given the right to demand my private information. They do not have a court order for a search warrant to collect personal information from me, as the 4th Amendment gives me the right. They violate my rights when they demand personal information from me.

If you trust The United States Government and are willing to give up your 4th Amendment Right, then go ahead and tell them everything they are asking. In my home, we will list the number of people that live here. They don't need to know the race of ANYONE living here! For a country who is the melting pot, where Civil Rights for ALL people have been the fight for most of our country's history, the government certainly likes putting up the racial divisions all the time. We teach our children to live by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s words, "judge a man by the content of his character, not the color of his skin." And we LIVE by these words, we do not simply throw them out every February for Black History Month out of obligation!

The citizens of this nation have been complacent for too many years. We have allowed our freedoms to slowly be taken away from us bit by bit. Now this country is not at all the country I grew up in. My children do not know the freedoms I knew.

"Mr. Lincoln, I wish you were here. The Republic's changed a lot in 100 years. I don't think it's working out like you planned. Mr. Lincoln, we sure could use a hand."

The LORD spoke to Moses in the Tent of Meeting in the Desert of Sinai on the first day of the second month of the second year after the Israelites came out of Egypt. He said: "Take a census of the whole Israelite community by their clans and families, listing every man by name, one by one. You and Aaron are to number by their divisions all the men in Israel twenty years old or more who are able to serve in the army. One man from each tribe, each the head of his family, is to help you. "Beautiful Savior"

It's been a while since I've written on this blog. During my time of absence here, I actually started another blog dedicated mainly to politics, and our nation from the view our founding fathers intended this country to be. We, as a nation, have strayed so far away from our roots.

Over the last few months I have been frustrated, angry, appalled, and at times almost overwhelmed. It crossed my mind to just delete the other blog because part of me feels that it makes no difference. What is going to happen is going to happen, and no matter how much I write about it, things are not going to change.

I have come to another conclusion, however. I am not going to delete the other blog, because it served its purpose for me at that time. But, this is where I will continue to blog. As I have said previously, music has a very special place in my heart. All of my kids also love music, but my youngest son seems to have gotten both mine and my husbands purest passion for music.

So I return here, to this little haven. I need to vent. I need to reflect.

I chose this song, "Beautiful Savior" by Casting Crowns, as today's entry, because without my Beautiful Savior, Jesus Christ, I really would have no hope at all. Jesus Christ is the only Hope this world has. Unfortunately, so many refuse to open their eyes and heart and see this.

Every second of every day seems to bring more devastating news to the world. For me, I just keep looking toward the heavens.

Luke 21:7-38 is being fulfilled right before our very eyes, as well as many other passages of Scripture. I look up because of Luke 21:28 "When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near."

I have decided that being frustrated with the arrogance of the politicians is not accomplishing anything. No, I don't agree with the political atmosphere, leaders and choices of our nation, and I refuse to stick my head in the sand. However, I will keep my eyes on my Beautiful Savior. I know these things must come to pass. I long to see my Jesus!

Every day, every hour, every minute, every second brings us closer to the end of time. I am a student of Biblical prophecy. While I am probably still in what would be considered Prophecy Pre-School, or maybe Kindergarten, I find this day and age that we are living in so fascinating.

What amazes me even more than what is going on in the world, I think, is how so many people are oblivious to the reality of the times we are living in. I know God's Word says that many will not hear the truth, but I just do not understand how you can not see things so clearly!

As a child, and up into my early 20's, prophecy scared me. I did not understand it. Well, more specifically, I did not know God for Who He truly Is. I had a total misconception of Who God Is, and for many years I feared Him. I did not fear Him in the reverent way of knowing His awesomeness, I instead feared Him, believing He was set out to destroy me and/or wanted to keep me from having fun.

A life-changing even happened in my life that brought me to my knees before God Almighty. My Beautiful Savior revealed Himself to me in all His majesty and power. Never again will I doubt Who God Is.

The times we are living in are so very exciting to me. That probably seems so strange to many people. But I know all of these things must come to pass. I also know my redemption draws near.

While I still completely disagree with Barack Obama, as well as most of our other
leaders. Our country was founded on God Almighty. We as a country have walked so far away from God, so much so, that I do not believe that God' protection over this country will be for much longer. God does not force us to love Him and choose His ways. We have been given free will. With every choice we have made as a nation that is against God Almighty we have brought the consequences down upon this nation.

We allowed prayer to be removed from schools. We have allowed abortion to be legalized, thereby making it legal to kill babies. I am sure God cringes every single time an innocent child's life is taken. We have elected a president that is obviously not grounded on godly principles. For many, many years the silent majority were exactly that... silent. Now, while I believe we are still the majority, we sat silent for too long. We allowed our blessed country to be overrun with corruption and evil. Now, I believe it is too late. I believe that events have been set in motion that cannot be changed. Oh, yes, I most certainly believe that God has the power to change things, but God does not force us to do things we do not want to do. I believe that the silence of Christians has taken root in this country and we have allowed it to seep into our churches, and it has now grown into full-blown apostasy. But we as a nation are reaping what we have sown. These things must happen to fulfill prophecy. I will not give up without a fight, because I know that God intends for each of us to fight the good fight as long as we are here on earth. But I am not worried about things because I know my God is in control!

I believe our time on earth is short. If you are a Christ-follower- TRULY a Christ-follower, then we need to be looking towards the heavens, because our redemption draws very near. If your are of the number that classifies yourself as a Christian, yet you do not live your life sold out to Christ Jesus, then NOW is the time to fall on your face before God. I believe we are truly living in the End Times! The Holy Spirit still dwells here on earth through The Church- The Bride of Christ- Christians. But soon and very soon, we- The Bride- will hear the trumpet sound, and we will be caught up in the clouds to be with our King Jesus!

It's not too late for you! If you do not know my Jesus, I invite you to meet Him! He will change your life in ways you can never imagine! You will know Peace as you have never known it. You cannot be good enough to be saved! You cannot pray enough to be saved. It is ONLY through the sacrificial blood of Jesus- you believing He Is Who He Is- accepting Him as your Savior and repenting of your sins, that you can be saved. You have not been too bad. I PROMISE you, if He can forgive me, He can... AND WILL... forgive YOU!

Would you like to meet Him? He's waiting for you! He is not willing that any should perish.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16
